The Big Giant

Fionn McCumhaill is a great and powerful warrior.
He is also a lonely Giant; the only Giant in Ireland.
Is Fionn the only Giant in the world?
Together let us help Fionn McCumhaill build a bridge to Scotland to find the stomping Giants who look like him.
This is a story of curiosity, adventure and connection.

Inspired by the legend of The Giants Causeway, this is a dance theatre show for children aged 5-7 and their families.

As an Irish choreographer based in Scotland, I am fascinated by our cultural similarities, the reappearance of mythical characters across both lands and moreover, what these can offer a young modern audience.

This was supported by Creative Scotland Funding in 2021 at The Work Room, Glasgow. The project was mentored by playwright Morna Young and Children's Theatre Maker Anna Newell.
The Big Giant has previously been supported by Scottish Youth Theatre, Dundee Rep and CityMoves Dance Agency.
